Job Summary: Manage the institutional research efforts by developing, implementing and supporting the database and reporting components to specific needs and requirements defined. Support the reporting needs and responsibilities associated with the HEI state reporting, IPEDS reporting and various surveys subscribed to by the university. Contribute to IR's database development and analytics efforts including objects associated with the institution's data warehouse and business intelligence technology. Supervise other staff working within the department providing oversight, guidance and mentoring.

Essential Functions:

40% Serve as primary access point for internal and external requests for university information and in the design and development of recurring and ad hoc queries, analytics and reporting objects. Assign work to supervised staff and monitor progress on tasks.

20% Support the preparation of official university reports and surveys for State, Federal, and external agencies and organizations.

20% Maintain working knowledge of critical systems and data sources. Keep current on emerging trends and directions. Serve on various university institutional and governance groups and bodies.

10% Develop sound data administration protocols related to respective IR reporting areas.

10% Serve as the IR support person for database and analytics development efforts in conjunction with staff from Information Technology Services.

Required Qualifications:

  • Relevant Bachelor's Degree
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in reporting data related to higher education or related work experience
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Institutional Research and knowledge of IPEDS and external surveys such as Common Data Set, HLC, and US News reporting.
  • Use of statistical and database management software, strong communication skills, ability to work harmoniously and effectively with personnel at all levels required.
  • High degree of organization, numerical accuracy, and attention to detail required.
  • Requires active listening, critical thinking, good interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Requires ability to present complex findings and recommendations in a clear concise manner verbally and in writing.
  • Requires the ability to provide good judgment, decision-making, and problem solving.
