Director of Assessment and Planning - Student Affairs

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), a dynamic, innovative, and student-centered institution in Birmingham, AL, invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for its next director of assessment and planning-student affairs. This is an on-site leadership role (one day per week remote work is possible).

Reporting to the assistant vice president for student affairs & director of division operations, the director of assessment & planning—student affairs (director) manages the comprehensive implementation and assessment of the division’s strategic plan and creates a culture of excellence utilizing effective assessment practices. The director champions a robust array of assessment efforts and consistently collaborates throughout the university in assessing the student experience. The director provides direction and leadership reflective of innovation within assessment practices, serves as the divisional representative on various university assessment initiatives, and provides information and support for university reaccreditation efforts. The director works closely with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness & Analysis and effectively manages a budget of $180,000.

Public Salary Range: $90,000-$100,000
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a master’s degree in a related field and a minimum of three years of experience in an assessment- or research-related environment (Work experience may not substitute for education requirement). Preference will be for assessment experience in a student affairs setting.
