Job Duties: The Director of Institutional Research and Assessment supports and advances strategic goals of the college by providing official, comprehensive, timely and user-friendly information used in assessing institutional effectiveness, planning, accreditation and decision-making. The Director conducts a variety of research studies aligned with those responsibilities, designs and coordinates learning assessment efforts, maintains institutional databases and prepares reports for a variety of organizations. The Director works with colleagues in Academic Affairs, as well as other administrators and faculty, to identify, assess and address challenges to the college. The ability to relate to colleagues across the campus will be critical to the Director’s success in bridging the gap between data and effective action. Qualifications: Minimum qualifications are: an earned doctorate, substantial experience in the generation and analysis of academic data, and the ability and willingness to become expert with the sorts of software (e.g., Datatel, Access, Excel, SPSS) used by the college. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential. Experience with action research/collaborative inquiry in an academic context would be beneficial.
