Job Duties: The Department of Institutional Research seeks an associate to assist in the collection and the reporting of official university statistics. The incumbent will work closely with the director to fulfill external agencies’ requests for statistics, to conduct internal research to support planning and accreditation, and to build an on-line repository of official statistics to meet common campus data needs. Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess:
• Two years research experience, with the ability to choose appropriate methods and to conduct studies independently and collaboratively.
• Familiarity with SQL and advanced programming capability with the STATA statistical environment.
• Ability to communicate methods and results through presentations, written reports, and executive summaries.
• Knowledge of university structure, an understanding of key constituencies, and some familiarity with higher-education policy issues.
• Experience fulfilling data requests from publishing companies.
• Bachelor’s degree (master’s or higher preferred) in mathematics, policy analysis, or the social sciences.
