Job Duties: Fordham University seeks an achievement-oriented individual, ideally with faculty experience, to coordinate an assessment program that will assist the University in attaining strategic and operational goals. The assessment officer will:
• work in an office that integrates University strategic planning, assessment, and institutional research, • collaborate with a team of researchers with advanced skills in policy analysis, econometrics, psychology, and computer science, • support and expand a highly decentralized assessment program and disseminate assessment results, • initially focus on coordinating a faculty-directed assessment of student learning and subsequently on evaluation of the efficiency and effectiveness of administrative operations. Qualifications: Ideally, the successful candidate will have a minimum of: • experience as a faculty member of a university, • experience in assessment or program evaluation in higher education, • knowledge of the assessment requirements of a regional accrediting agency, • advanced graduate work in a quantitatively oriented social science or education field (PhD strongly preferred), • an outstanding academic record, • an uncompromising commitment to accuracy and presentation quality, • excellent writing and speaking skills, • ability to work cooperatively with faculty members across disciplines and with senior officials in a highly decentralized environment, • a strong desire to apply his or her intelligence and skills to achieve educational goals, • the ability to form a broad and insightful perspective on higher education, and • knowledge of the objectives of Jesuit education and willingness to go the extra mile to achieve them.
