Job Title: DIRECTOR OF CURRICULUM & PLANNING - Atlanta Technical College, Atlanta GA Deadline Date: January 1, 2010 Starting Date: Institution: 2 year college locater near downtown Atlanta, Ga contact www.atlantatech.edu Job Duties: 1) Leads the college’s Institutional Effectiveness Process. This includes direct responsibility for coordinating the annual evaluation of goals and objectives, coordinating the budgeting process (including Perkins budget oversight and management), coordinating the annual and strategic planning processes, and other related activities.
2) Leads the college’s Accreditation Initiatives. This direct responsibility includes service as the liaison between the college and its two accrediting agencies, the Council on Occupational Education (COE) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) Commission on Colleges (COC), development and submission of substantive changes and other changes, submission of required annual and semi-annual reports, college advisement and preparation for on-site and off-site reviews, and other related activities.
3) Leads and manages the college’s Institutional Research Process. This includes supervision of the college’s Institutional Research Specialist who is responsible for administration and analysis of college surveys, submission of external surveys, submission of IPEDS and other reports, assessment of the strategic plan, QEP evaluation, coordination of the quality team process, and other related activities.
4) Leads and manages the college’s Curriculum Planning Process. This includes supervision of the college’s Curriculum Specialist who is responsible for new program development and approval, program terminations and changes, curriculum review and updating, catalog updating, academic calendar development, master scheduling, and other related activities.
5) Manages departmental budgets and expenditures.
6) Demonstrates leadership, management ability, teamwork, customer service and organizational commitment.
7) Strong skills in written and oral communication and in the facilitation of group efforts. Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: A master's degree in administration, business, higher education, educational leadership or a closely related field
Experience: Three years experience in planning, institutional effectiveness, research and accreditation.
Skills/Abilities: Must have at least five years of employment in higher education. Proficiency in the use of programs in the Microsoft Office Suite.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: A doctorate degree in business, administration, higher education, educational leadership or a closely related field.
Experience: Five years experience in planning, institutional effectiveness, research and accreditation.
