Institution: Founded in 1909, University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse (UW-L)is one of 11, four-year institutions in the University of Wisconsin System with approximately 9,000 students. UW-L offers a wide array of undergraduate programs and a variety of graduate programs in three colleges: Liberal Studies (including the Schools of Education and Arts & Communication); Science and Health; and Business Administration. Job Duties: The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse invites applications for a newly created position of university assessment coordinator who will serve as member of the Center for Advancing Teaching & Learning. UW-L believes that employees from diverse backgrounds are critical to achieving excellence as a nationally recognized institution of higher education. This is a full time, annual, non-instructional appointment.

The Assessment Coordinator provides assistance to faculty and staff, academic departments and programs, campus committees and groups to plan, implement and use assessment of student learning to improve educational quality. The assessment coordinator:
--consults with faculty groups and committees (e.g., Academic Program Review, General Education Committee) on all
phases of assessment (e.g., planning, implementation, data analysis, reporting)
--develops resource materials and provides campus presentations to help faculty and staff streamline and improve their classroom and programs assessment practices
--coordinates, administers and reports on university wide assessment activities (e.g., Collegiate Learning Assessment,
National Survey of Student Engagement)
--disseminates and communicates assessment results to internal and external constituencies
--develops and promotes strategies to use university assessment results to foster educational improvement
--coordinates, tracks and projects needed actions related to assessment for accreditation from the Higher Learning
Commission
--assists departments and programs that need help with their accreditation studies

Qualifications: Required qualifications include a Master’s degree or ABD, assessment experience, and knowledge of quantitative and
qualitative methods to assess student learning. Preference will be given to candidates with training and experience in the job responsibilities listed above. In addition, individuals with a doctorate and teaching experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
