SALARY:
Range A-107, Steps 1 - 6, $4,842 - $6,180. Initial salary placement, Step 1.
Under the direction of the Director of Research and Institutional Effectiveness, provides specialized assistance related to the integration of Student Learning Outcomes (SLO) assessment into instructional improvement, institutional evaluation systems, and College planning and management; creates a common format for planning and reporting and collaborates with the Information Technology department for the purpose of monitoring assessment data; assists the College in the assessment of SLO by assisting with assessment training to faculty, staff, and management.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
--Provides specialized assistance related to the integration of Student Learning Outcomes (SLO) assessment into instructional improvement, institutional evaluation systems, and College planning and management; presents assessment options to departments, programs, and support units.
--Collaborates with the Research Office and IT and provides technical direction into the creation of SLO components in the existing College-wide system; utilizes the system for monitoring and tracking SLO assessment data; develops and maintains complex computer databases related to student cohort tracking.
--Assists on training in the assessment of SLO to College faculty, managers, and staff; provides training to personnel concerning data collection and accountability policies, procedures, and techniques; organizes and conducts staff in-services; assists SLO facilitators and Professional and Organizational Development to produce staff development activities.
--Works collaboratively with instructional divisions and faculty, administrative units, and staff to design and conduct educational research developed to improve teaching and learning in the classroom and support services; disseminates results as appropriate.
--Presents assessment options for assessing institutional outcomes; examines and assures the efficacy of assessment tools; recommends appropriate assessment tools.
--Assists administrators in the coordination, preparation, distribution, collection and scoring of numerous State-mandated, organizational and special tests.
--Maintains and troubleshoots assigned databases; resolves system errors and malfunctions; arranges for repairs and refers complex problems and malfunctions to appropriate personnel or outside agency.
--Assists in the preparation and maintenance of a variety of narrative and statistical reports, records, and files related to research and data collection findings and results; monitors data integrity; produces a documentation index for the Mt. SAC accreditation self study; composes documents concerning information analysis results for distribution to the public; presents data and information to a variety of audiences for policy and decision-making.
--Leads in the creation of a common format for planning and reporting outcomes.
--Evaluates the implementation of SLO assessments and their effectiveness.
--Performs related duties as assigned.

Experience and Education:
Any combination equivalent to:
--A Bachelor’s degree with educational background in statistics, computer science, and educational program delivery including Student Learning Outcomes and two years of increasingly responsible experience involving related research and analysis activities and projects.
--Training and presentation experience desirable.

Salary/Benefits: College contributes $9,261 toward annual premium for medical, dental, vision and life insurance coverage. Lifetime medical benefits are provided for eligible retirees.
