Job Duties: Responds to inquiries made by other departments in regard to institutional information. Gathers and analyzes data and reports back in a user-friendly and professionally acceptable manner. Develops and writes various data-based reports. Maintains longitudinal and short-term project databases. Assists in the compilation of the College Fact Book. Coordinates and maintains the electronic version of the Fact Book. Serves as representative and reporting officer for the College on various committees. Responds to external inquiries for data as appropriate. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. Qualifications: Required: Bachelor’s Degree in a related area and two (2) years of research experience. Knowledge of and skills in applicable computer programs, research design, inferential and descriptive statistics, performing qualitative and quantitative research analysis, interpreting statistical analysis, summarizing research findings, designing research survey instruments, preparing a variety of reports, research sources; customer service principles, communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
Preferred: Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Education, Information Systems or related field. Strongly prefer experience working in an educational setting. Prefer previous experience with college student information administrative computer systems, in particular Datatel. Prefer experience in working with both quantitative and qualitative analysis. Proficiency in SPSS, MS Access, and basic knowledge of database management computer programming.
