Job Title: PROJECT COORDINATOR - Mt. San Antonio College, Walnut, CA

Job Duties: The Project Coordinator assists collaboratively with Basic Skills research projects including the following: working with teams on conceptualizing their projects; helping the teams determine the student learning outcomes and administrative unit objectives; creating data collection procedures and instruments; providing guidance and assistance in data collection; analyzing the data; and writing reports on the findings including the study’s limitations and recommendations for action as well as how the findings should be used for improvement purposes. The position also requires multiple levels of data management and statistical analysis. This individual is required to make presentations and attend meetings of different groups across campus as needed. The incumbent is also required to perform related duties.

Examples of duties and responsibilities:
• Provide administrative support in the development of Basic Skills research projects including assisting teams with writing student learning outcomes and administrative unit objectives, guiding them in the research, evaluation and assessment processes, provide data collection support as time permits, and provide data analysis and report writing, including limitations and recommendations for action.
• Assist managers, faculty, and staff in construction of reliable and valid research instruments.
• Prepare special reports; maintain project records, and statistical information.
• Operate personal computer with various software applications designed to perform statistical functions (SPSS), spreadsheet, relational databases, word processing and desktop publishing.
• Assist in the writing, editing, and development of year-end Basic Skills reports and newsletters
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Special Knowledge/Skills:
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community with changing priorities.
• Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
• Advanced writing skills.
• Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports.
• Skill in organizing own time, resources and establishing priorities.
• Working knowledge of how to conduct research in an educational environment
• Experience in Microsoft Office Suite and database management;
• Experience with database proficiency; graphics capability; and SPSS statistical package

This position reports to the Director of Research and Institutional Effectiveness.

Qualifications: The candidate should have a bachelor's degree with at least one year of related job experience.

Salary/Benefits: $35 per hour (20 hours/week ASAP to June 30, 2009 contractual position with possibility of extension, benefits not available)
